Stylish, Comfortable Sandals That Don’t Look Frumpy

Finding stylish, comfortable sandals that aren’t frumpy often seems like a total impossibility.  If you want comfort you have to forgo style and vice versa, right?  Or do you?  Rare is it that I work with a client who is willing to give up comfort that so much of my job involves seeking out shoes that won’t mutilate my clients’ feet.  Add to this, so much of my days are spent on my feet that I can’t begin to tell you how many stylish shoes I have let go of simply because they aren’t practical.  That said, with sandal season here, I wanted to present some stylish, comfortable sandals that aren’t frumpy.

Stylish, Comfortable Sandals That Don’t Look Frumpy

Before I go on, it’s important to keep in mind that comfort is always relative.  Even it the shoes comes from a comfort brand, if the style doesn’t work for your feet they won’t be comfortable.  Therefore, it’s important that you test out different brands before committing.  This post will give you some ideas to start.

Outfit #1

These navy wedge sandals are not only stylish but they are from the comfort brand Sofft, definitely worthy of checking out if you need comfort.  In the outfit above, I styled them with cropped pants from J. Crew, a sleeveless ruched top in navy from Boden, a sleeveless belted jacket from Reiss, and the look was accessorized with a printed scarf from Echo, orange tote from Tory Burch, bangle bracelet from Banana Republic and hoop earrings from gorjana.

Next, these block heeled sandals from Cole Haan.  I always gravitate towards shoes from Cole Haan simply because they are so comfortable while not necessarily looking like a comfort shoe.  In the outfit above, I styled these sandals with a full skirt from Ted Baker, short sleeve cardigan from LOFT, white t-shirt from Theory, and accessorized the outfit with a taupe bag from Michael Kors and stud earrings from Kate Spade.

This last look, I used these metallic sandals, also from Sofft, for their versatility in color.  If you want to get the most out of your stylish, comfortable sandals, metallic is definitely the way to go.  I styled these sandals with a chambray dress from Vince Camuto and accessorized the outfit with a red vegan bag from Matt & Nat, tassel earrings from Stella & Dot and bangle Ann Taylor.

OH, Bridgette, thank you for the reminder to update existing shoes for current styles. It’s so easy to continue wearing what’s in the closet, but new ensembles aren’t complete without the right style of shoe or heel. I so appreciate how you think!
    A faithful fan,
